Advocacy Groups

Advocacy Groups across our service area work to remove roadblocks that keep people with disabilities from fully integrating in the community.  Consumers meet monthly to identify community barriers to independent living and direct ARISE’s systems change advocacy efforts to remove those obstacles. Issues discussed include barriers to integrated and accessible housing, access to transportation, healthcare, public accommodations, better pedestrian safety and much more. Consumers also advise ARISE staff about programming and services.
