Technology That Works!

My relatively new communication device is paying dividends I never dreamed of! I’m currently enrolled in a summer class at Syracuse University. The official title is the “Conversation Club”.  I meet one afternoon a week with other students using communication devices. The instructors are graduate students who are working on their master’s degree in speech language therapy.

These classes are fun. First, getting out in the community and secondly meeting with others who have communication needs gives me opportunities to meet new friends. We play trivia games, plan vacations, design our dream home, and have a lot of laughs.

My communication device has broadened my horizons quite a bit. I can communicate my thoughts now; can you imagine how liberating that feeling is! I’m appreciative of those at the Gebbie Clinic who work so hard to make this class possible.
