At ARISE Adaptive Design, we use everyday materials to create customized equipment and devices for children and adults who have disabilities.
Each week, a group of community members with different backgrounds come together to design and build tools to help people with disabilities participate in everyday life. We identify barriers and build adaptive device solutions so that kids and adults can flourish in all areas of life — social, educational, vocational and recreational. By combining highly customizable building techniques with everyday building materials, ARISE Adaptive Design creates custom low-cost, practical solutions unique to each person who connects with us. We usually build these adaptive devices from the ground up to meet your specific measurements, needs, interests and abilities.
Our community volunteers are clinicians, therapists, designers, engineers, hobbyists and students. When you request a device from us, we encourage you, your family and your network to take part in the building process. You are the center of your design team, and you will help guide the volunteer builders in the fit, function and look of your custom device. We also partner with local high schools and universities so that students have an opportunity for hands-on learning while serving others living in their community.
